Tender Care Daycare & Preschool

Welcome to Busy Bee's

The Potty Training Room

Age Range: 2 years – 3 years old
Lead Teacher: Ms. Amber
Co- Lead Teacher: Ms. Bella

In order to help your child grow in their development our class room manipulatives, and materials are arranged to meet the needs of your child. Every child is unique in their own way, so the curriculum is created around all learning developments and our daily activities help meet the needs of each child as an individual. We craft our schedule to work on potty training in this classroom. We instill confidence to utilize the
bathroom. and build off the foundation blocks built at home first. Together we work as a team with parents to have the children fully potty trained before heading into the Preschool room.

We will have assessments three times a year typically in February, May, and October )) to show progress of your child and where they are at in development. These assessments also help create our weekly individual plans for the children to meet their developmental goals. Please reach out at any time with questions or concerns about your child’s progress.

Our goal for your child’s day is to run as smoothly as possible and to make sure you are comfortable with leaving your child in our care please reach out at any time with questions or concerns or just to check in about your child during the day!

Procare - The app you download will be our main source of communication about your child's day and needs. We record diaper changes/potties times, nap times, incidents etc. We also will communicate through messages about your child's day, if they are in need of extra clothes or supplies, and any other information! This is also a great way for you to share information with us or let us know about any changes for your child!

Curriculum - ABC Jesus Loves Me is crafted and thoughtfully pieced together to make learning part of daily activities and play, with the main focus of intentional learning through active play. Each room has a specific curriculum divided into focused activities geared specifically to the age group. It focuses on the learning that occurs during the process and not the end result of the activity. This curriculum also introduces God & Jesus, incorporating Bible verses, songs, and stories. It will hopefully broaden your child's understanding of biblical learning as well as shapes, colors, and animals.

  • Each child has their own cubby that is labeled, to house their items, i.e. extra clothing.
  • Daycare appropriate clothing - two piece outfits, shirt and bottoms, with hard bottomed washable shoes. Please be mindful that your child will need quick access to the potty .. which means no footie pajamas or one piece outfits, or overalls. Please no slippers, or shoes that fall off easily.
  • Water is always accessible for your child at any point during the day. If there is a specific water bottle you'd like your child to use, please provide that bottle upon their first day. Cleaning and sanitizing will happen daily at the daycare.
  • Parent Info Board - located on the wall next to the adjoining door that leads to the Explorers room. This board will give an overview of our curriculum and what your child is learning that week.
  • Outside Play - we go outside at least twice a day, weather permitting, even in snow and sprinkling rain so please have weather appropriate gear! These items can remain at the daycare in your child's cubbie or on their hook labeled with their name/initials.
  • Our children learn through active play, which means getting dirty. We use all kinds of art mediums, as well as sensory play with different textures, plus we allow for the children to play outside in the grass, dirt, sand, and water. Your child will get anything and everything on their clothes! If you don't wish for certain items of clothing to get dirty or possibly damaged, please do not send them to daycare in those outfits.
  • Our room is often joined by the Toddler Spunky Monkey room, the age range is 12 months to 30 months old. We are together in the mornings from 6 am to 9 am, and again in the evenings from 4:30 pm to 6 pm.
  • On average in our room, the children go through about 2 outfits and 3 underwear changes a day. Your child is learning to understand and listen to their bodies and accidents will happen. We will send you a message on Procare letting you know to bring more clothing and underwear, and when to bring it. We will always try to give you at least two nights advance notice, and this will also apply to wipes or anything else your child needs in the room.
  • The building blocks to potty training must start at home. It will be a longer process and possibly difficult for your child if they are only using the potty at daycare. We encourage you to start soy tdin at nome and please be in communication with their teachers on progress, difficulties, and successes. We wish to be a united team in helping your child succeed.
  • Your child will need a blanket for nap time. Please be mindful of the size of the blanket, it should cover your child from head to toe and allow excess to cuddle into, and movement during seen without exposing them to the light in the room. These blankets will also go home at the end of your child's week for laundry and then MUST return at the beginning of your child's week.
